Welcome to my personal website dedicated to my long time interest in amateur astronomy. Feel free to browse through the pages using the links above.

I am currently building a small 'grab and go' 8" Dobsonian telescope using parts from an old Newtonian reflector. The project and its progress are outlined in 8" Dobsonian Project.

Over the years, my time at the eyepiece has mainly been as a visual observer, and this is still the case today, however I do occasionally indulge in some imaging work, and a small selection of this work is presented in the Photo Gallery. Some of these results include early astrophotography of Comet Halley in 1986, Supernova 1987a and IC434, the famous Horsehead Nebula. As well as these early film work there are some more recent CCD work of Jupiter and the Moon.

In Your First Telescope I have written some information to help newcomers decide on which telescope is is best to buy for their first instrument.
